WPU Continues Trend of Award-Winning Online Learning

William Peace University continues to be recognized for its flexible and affordable online learning by various education research organizations.

Recently, the University was ranked as one of  the best online schools in North Carolina by Accredited Schools Online. WPU was commended for it unique online course offering in “that every course for every online degree is offered every semester.” The ranking was based on several characteristics, including the percentage of students at WPU receiving financial aid, academic/career counseling services available, placement services available upon program completion, and tuition.

In addition, WPU ranked as one of the most affordable online colleges in North Carolina by OnlineColleges.net. The ranking was based on in-state yearly tuition, or annual tuition rates. Institutions with the lowest tuition were ranked highest, providing prospective students with a true list of the most affordable online colleges in their state.

In both 2015 and 2016, WPU ranked among the best online colleges in North Carolina by Affordable Colleges Online. To determine the rankings, ACO data analysts and college experts developed a scoring system to rank colleges based on various cost-to-quality criteria and metrics. Those general criteria and scoring metrics include: number of online bachelor’s degrees available, student-faculty ratio, loan default rate, job placement and career counseling for graduates, online tuition rate, 6-year graduation rate.

WPU first introduced evening classes in 2009, and in 2011 and 2012, added online and Saturday classes as part of its School of Professional Studies (SPS), a bachelor’s degree program geared toward working adults wanting to further their education and careers. Since being introduced, the program has seen a steady growth in enrollment and popularity, primarily due to its flexible course offerings and affordability. The University prides itself on innovative and up-to-date curriculum and course work having added more than a dozen majors, minors, and concentrations, all taught through a variety of mediums, within the last five years.
