2018 WPU Holiday Celebration & Lighting On The Lawn, Monday Nov. 26
The annual WPU Holiday Celebration will take place on Monday, November 26, 2018 with events beginning at 4:30 p.m. Students, faculty, staff, alumni and invited guests are welcome to attend and help kick off the holiday season at William Peace University.
Schedule of Events
4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. – Holiday Dinner in the Belk Dining Hall
All are welcome to join this festive meal in the dining hall located in the Belk Building. Students with a meal plan will use a meal swipe. Students without a meal plan may show their Pacer Card to have their meal covered by the Student Government Association. Faculty, staff, alumni and guests may pay at the door with a credit card. Vegetarian and Vegan options will also be available. The dining hall will be open for regular dinners hours with the same menu for those who are unable to join during the Holiday Dinner time-frame, however comped student meals will end at 6:00 p.m.

6:00 p.m. – Moravian Love Feast Service
This annual tradition marks the start of the holiday season at William Peace University. This non-denominational service will include scripture readings, performances from WPU students and student groups, a sermon and the serving of a traditional sugar cake and cider.

Following Love Feast Service – Lighting of the WPU Lawn and Dessert Reception
To conclude the service, the campus community is asked to join the festivities on the Main Lawn for the Lighting of the WPU Lawn event, complete with singing, the lighting, which will be led by President Brian Ralph, Ph.D., The lighting ceremony will conclude with a dessert reception of your favorite sweet treats and fellowship. The brightly lit Main Lawn, complete with the infamous Peace letters, continues to serve as a major gathering spot and focal point for the #OurRaleigh community during the winter.
