#OurRaleigh: WPU Welcomes Triangle Leaders for Panel Discussion on Leadership and Nonprofit Administration

May 23, 2018
WPU hosts several speakers and forums

William Peace University is proud to welcome organizational and business leaders from across the Triangle to campus on Thursday, June 7, for the Leadership and Nonprofit Administration Breakfast & Panel Discussion.

Panel speakers will lead a discussion on the current state of the leadership environment in nonprofit organizations as we, a community, focus on workforce development, skill gaps, and talent acquisition.

“This event is not only a unique opportunity to connect with local nonprofit leaders who make our Triangle communities stronger, but it also allows us to gain a deeper understanding about the type of leadership competencies that are most needed to succeed in the nonprofit arena.”

Valeska Redmond, Ph.D., Director of Strategic Partnerships and Initiatives

Earlier this year, the University announced Leadership & Nonprofit Administration as its newest major in both its Traditional Undergraduate Studies and School of Professional Studies programs. A unique and innovative partnership with Leadership Triangle (LT) is featured within the traditional undergraduate offering of the major, where students pair with mentors and learn hands-on skills from community leaders within LT, making for a one-of-a-kind immersive learning experience.

“This is particularly important since many baby boomers are moving into retirement, and we need to understand how leaders prepare for the next generation of nonprofit leaders and what kind of skill sets they require,” Dr. Redmond said.
