March 28, 2024

After two months of matches, WPU’s Esports teams finished their regular season games. The Rocket League team finished their season on March 18 in an intense doubleheader.

Rocket League’s Strong Finish
William Peace’s Rocket League team ended their season with a 5-2 record after almost two months of weekly matches on Monday.

In the first match against DePaul University, the Rocket League team managed to pick up the 3-2 win in the five-game series, winning the decisive game, 1-0.

Unfortunately, the Rocket League team ran out of steam, falling to Carolina University, 3-1 later that day.

Even though the team lost their second match of the day, they finished second seed for their division in NACE.

Coleman Arehart, head coach of the WPU Esports program, is prepared to win the divisional finals. The team has been scrimmaging higher level competition in order to bring their best fight when they play again.

“Since that night, we have looked over our replays from that night and have run scrims against even higher level competition to make sure we’re ready for the playoffs”

Rocket League will start their playoff run on April 8, against the winner of the Buena Vista University and Columbia International University match.
