Eric Ortiz serves William Peace University’s Office of Advancement as its Advancement Operations Specialist and Office Manager. He is responsible for gift processing, receipting, and acknowledgments, and he maintains the general administrative duties of the office.
A native of North Carolina, Eric has footprints in all of the state’s regions. He is from the coastal plain area, growing up in Ahoskie before heading to the piedmont region in 2014 to begin his undergraduate studies at Campbell University in Buies Creek. He later moved to the mountains of Boone, transferring to Appalachian State University, where he graduated in 2018 with a bachelor of science degree in Public Relations. Eric brings higher education experience to WPU, most recently serving as an Assistant Director of Athletic Communications at Campbell from 2018-20. At Campbell, he was the primary media contact for its volleyball, swimming, and baseball teams. After his time at Campbell and before joining WPU in October 2021, Eric gained valuable operations and data processing experience working within a family business and banking.
Eric continues to passionately follow college athletics and he is an avid Atlanta Braves fan. In his spare time, he enjoys running, visiting local breweries, collecting baseball cards, and watching and actively rewatching all of the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies and shows (his favorite Marvel character is Spider-Man). Eric and his wife, Christian, reside in Knightdale with their cat, Mac.
