People of Peace / Prepare at Peace

Description

Profiles of current faculty, staff and students (#PeopleofPeace) and alumni success stories (#PrepareAtPeace) can be highlighted throughout the site in dynamic callouts showcasing a headshot, large background image and quote or statement that can link to a news story for the full article or a full profile.

 

Adding and Editing Individual Profiles

People of Peace are stored in the system so that they can be placed on any page using the People of Peace Row component.

From the WordPress dashboard, click People of Peace in the left menu to bring up the full listing. To edit an existing entry, click its name in the list; to add a new entry, click Add New at the top of the page.

Note: if the People of Peace item is tied to a News item, before you add a the People of Peace item, create the News item that is tied to the People of Peace item

Field Definitions

  • Title: the name of the person featured
  • Text: the description of the POP item. Limit copy to around 140 characters (including space.)
  • Profile Image: the image of the person
  • Background Image: the image to appear in the background of the POP component
  • News Story: the link to the corresponding POP news item. If this is populated, it overrides the Green Button Link field
  • Story Type: the type of story, used for filtering and is displayed at the top of the POP component as a hash tag
  • Person Type: the type of profile, used for filtering
  • Person’s Title: the profile’s title to appear under their name
  • Green Button Link: optional first link if there’s no associated News item
  • Green Button Text: the text for the green button link which links to the corresponding News item
  • Blue Button Link: optional second link should link to all #PeopleOfPeace or #PrepareAtPeace stories.
  • Blue Button Text: optional second link text

How-To Add a People of Peace/Prepare at Peace Component to a Page

  1. Add a new Row
  2. Click the pencil icon on the row to open Row Settings
  3. Click the gear icon to open the Settings menu and select the People of Peace option.
  4. Click the + sign and add a new People of Peace component
  5. If the People of Peace (Random) component is selected, you have the option of displaying students or faculty randomly on page load.
  6. If the People of Peace (Select) component is selected, you will need to enter the system ID for the People of Peace post. See the below list for the IDs. This can also be found in the URL when editing the POP item, under the post URL parameter.
