Sport Management

  • Overview

What happens on the field or court isn’t the only factor that determines the success of a sports team. That’s where you come in.

For every player on a team there are dozens of Sport Management professionals who work behind the scenes to make the organization a success. From marketing and sales, to managing the team’s venue and its facilities, the opportunities to utilize your Sport Management minor are endless.

WPU calls downtown Raleigh home, which means that as a student you are surrounded by an ever-expanding sports market. You will learn hands-on from expert faculty and gain experience from organization professionals in internships opportunities throughout Raleigh and the Triangle. Sport Management students have taken advantage of internships for teams like the Carolina Hurricanes, North Carolina FC, and USA Baseball.
