Community Service

“The student develops an appreciation …and skills for ethical citizenship.”

Enumerated in our mission statement, WPU students are called to community service.

And we take it seriously.

WPU students, faculty and staff are active in our community, the city of Raleigh, and the world beyond. From tutoring at Hope Charter Leadership Academy, to providing aid at Love Wins Community Engagement Center, to The Green Chair Project and Miracle League Softball games, you will find Pacer Nation making a difference.

WPU Students, Staff, Alumni, and Community Members come together on MLK Day of Service to give back to the Raleigh Community, impacting over 10,800 people in the area

#PrepareAtPeace

When you #PrepareAtPeace, it’s more than getting prepped for graduate school, or interviewing for that first job. We also push you to get involved and engage in your community, helping make the world a better place.

“It felt really awesome supporting the community of Wilmington [following Hurricane Florence], and it felt even greater to help restore what was lost.”
Christian Emmanuel Branch ’19

Appalachia Service Project

Since 2013, WPU students and staff have been spending their Fall Break going above and beyond, helping others. Through the Appalachia Service Project (ASP) in Jonesville, VA, our students volunteer to help repair the homes of  local residents – doing anything from installing insulation, to helping dig a drainage ditch to prevent mountain erosion.
