Pacer Camp. We can’t promise s’mores, but there will be other happy surprises.
Pacer Camp is a productive and informative two-day, overnight orientation program that’s required for all incoming first-year students – and best of all, it’s fun! The days will be jam-packed with information and activities, some of which include Campus Life Orientation, Academic Advising, Peace Community Resource Fair, exploring downtown Raleigh and a movie on the lawn.
A group of upper-class student volunteers will act as your Orientation Leaders (OLs). At Pacer Camp, OLs will help facilitate community building activities, answer most of your questions about WPU and help you figure out the best ways to become involved in the WPU community.
Pacer Camp Logistics
Once you have submitted your enrollment deposit to the Admissions Office, you will receive your WPU email login information; a link to Pacer Camp’s online registration will be emailed to your new WPU email address.
We require a Health Risk Assessment and Emergency Contact Form to be completed and filled out before orientation. This form will be emailed to your student. Please bring it with you to your session. A University representative will be on hand to collect it.
For parents and families
We have compiled a list of area hotels, as well as a parents page, to help facilitate your planning.
“My daughter loves, loves, loves WPU! Welcome new families!”
