PacerAlerts & Emergency Notifications

The PacerAlert system sends short text messages to the cell phones of all WPU students, parents, faculty, and staff in case of an emergency or severe/adverse weather conditions. Students and parents must subscribe to the alert system to receive messages.

  1. Visit the Rave Wireless Website
  2. Enter your WPU login name – Everything before the “@” symbol in your email address.
  3. Enter Your Information – Create an account with first name, last name, email, phone.
  4. Confirmation – You’ll receive a confirmation email to complete the process.
Public Safety

Public Safety officers are on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and can be contacted at any time by calling 919-833-2277. Emergency phones designated with blue lights are located at various points on campus for urgent situations.

Annual Crime Statistics Report

In accordance with the Student Right-To-Know Act, Campus Security Act of Higher Education Amendment and the Clery Act, the following information is made available.

William Peace University makes every effort to keep students, faculty and staff informed of campus security policies, crime statistics and safety tips.

The University (WPU) produces a daily crime log that is available to the public per the regulations and guidelines of the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act.

Crime Log Availability
    • Monday – Friday
    • 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
    • Logs from last 60 days available upon request
    • Logs older than 60 days available within three business days of request
Content of the Daily Log
  • Crimes reported to WPU Office of Public Safety occurring within WPU Office of Public Safety jurisdiction
  • WPU Office of Public Safety responses to valid crime complains, including incidents that may result in administrative action by the University
  • Date and Time Incident Reported
  • Date and Time Incident Occurred
  • Type of Incident
  • Locations of Incident
  • Disposition of Incident
  • Information may be withheld if the release of information would:
    • Jeopardize an ongoing criminal investigation or safety of an individuals;
    • Cause a suspect to flee or evade detection;
    • Result in destruction of evidence
  • When threat is no longer valid the information in the daily log will be updated

Report Anonymous Crimes

Need to report a crime?

Students, employees, and visitors are encouraged to immediately report any criminal offense, suspected criminal activity, or other emergency on campus directly to the WPU Office of Public Safety and for crimes occurring off campus, to the appropriate police agency for that location.

What to Report

  • Murder and Manslaughter
  • Sexual Violence and other Sex Offenses, forcible or non-forcible, but not including sexual harassment or indecent exposure
  • Domestic Violence and Dating Violence
  • Stalking, Robbery, and Burglary
    Aggravated Assault
  • Motor Vehicle Theft – including theft of motorized scooters, golf carts, motorized wheelchairs, etc.
  • So-called “hate crimes” – (i) any other crime involving bodily injury, or (ii) larceny-theft, simple assault, intimidation, and destruction/ damage/ vandalism of property, when motivated by the perpetrator’s bias
