WPU Advancement; Communications and Marketing Win Regional Awards at CASE III Conference in Nashville, TN

Feb 10, 2017

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – William Peace University’s Advancement and Communications and Marketing Teams are celebrating big wins following the annual Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District III Conference, which was held in Nashville, February 5-8. The awards program included more than 1,000 entries from the 500 CASE member higher education institutions from across the southeast. WPU teams took home a total of four (4) awards, including two Grand Awards in Writing and in Electronic and Digital Media, the top distinction in each category.

“Winning four awards on a regional stage like CASE is a true testament to the kind of work we do here at William Peace University,” said Dr. Brian C. Ralph, President of William Peace University. “The work our Advancement and Communications and Marketing teams do for the WPU community is remarkable and these awards are an absolute indicator of that. I can’t wait to see what 2017 has in store for us as a University.”

“Nothing says more about a college or university than the ability to speak about the high quality work of its students and faculty in a format that catches people’s attention, especially in their publications and website,” said Dr. Kris Cohen, Vice President for Enrollment Management and Marketing. “I am so proud of the hard work of the Advancement and Communication and Marketing professionals that place as their first priority the hard work and performance of the WPU community.”

The University’s Advancement Team won the Grand Award in Writing for Fundraising for its entry “Thanksgiving Blessings from Peace’s First Family to Yours.” The mailer piece focused on a further introduction of Dr. Ralph, as well his family, to the WPU community as the University’s 11th president just months before. The piece also encouraged donations to the University’s Loyalty Fund, an annual fund comprised of unrestricted money that supports the institution’s operating budget.

In addition, WPU Advancement won Special Merit Awards in Speech Writing for its work during the Presidential Installation of Dr. Ralph, and in Magazine/Tabloid Improvement for the redesign of its 2016 Summer Bulletin.

“Receiving an award at this level recognizes that WPU’s work in advancement and communications rivals some of the best colleges and universities in the southeast.”

“Receiving an award at this level recognizes that WPU’s work in advancement and communications rivals some of the best colleges and universities in the southeast,” said Jodi Stamey, Vice President for University Advancement. “I am very proud to celebrate this accomplishment and hard work of our team.”

The WPU Communications and Marketing Team won the Grand Award for best Mobile Website Application for its work on the redesign of the University’s website, www.peace.edu, which launched in October 2016 and focused heavily on the mobile user experience.

The website is fully responsive and loaded with interactive digital media, including hundreds of photos and videos, a full VR campus tour, and even a “Find Your Passion” quiz – where prospective students can explore WPU majors through answering a short questionnaire that focuses on their personality traits, pairing them with potential fields of study. The project was completed in 13 months by the WPU Communications and Marketing Team and was aided by Systems Alliance, Inc. (SAI), a web design firm based in Baltimore, MD.

“We’re extremely proud to be honored with a Grand Award. There were a lot of long hours, research, and content development put into the website redesign.”

“We’re extremely proud to be honored with a Grand Award,” said Ian C. Dunne, Director of Communications and Marketing, who oversaw and led the redesign project. “There were a lot of long hours, research, and content development put into the website redesign. Overall, we think all of that hard work has resulted in a great user experience for our prospective students, families, and alumni.”
